VICTORIA ISD INVITES STUDENTS TO "LEVEL UP" WITH EXCITING SUMMER CAMP, OPEN ENROLLMENT HAPPENING NOW!

The Victoria ISD is proud to announce open enrollment for the "LEVEL UP" academic and enrichment camp. This summer marks the third consecutive year that VISD's Office of Strategic Planning and School Improvement will host this enriching program.

The "LEVEL UP" summer camp is scheduled from May 30th to June 28, 2024, Monday through Friday, offering a comprehensive educational and enrichment experience.

Designed to provide students with a balanced blend of academic reinforcement and engaging enrichment, the camp offers three hours of dedicated reading and math instruction, alongside three hours of stimulating activities. These enrichment sessions focus on various pathways, allowing students to explore interests and potential future pursuits within the VISD community.

LADY TITAN POWERLIFTING BACK-TO-BACK STATE CHAMPS

In an incredible run of success, after bringing home the Region 5 5A Division 1 Regional Championship earlier this month, the Victoria East High School Lady Titan Powerlifting Team ended their Spring Break by taking home the 5A Division 1 Championship from the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association State Championship Meet in Frisco, successfully defending their title to become back-to-back state champs.

VICTORIA WEST BARBENDERS QUALIFY FOR BOYS STATE POWERLIFTING MEET

On March 9, the Victoria West Barbenders Powerlifting Team competed at the THSPA Region 5 Division 1 Boys Championship Regional Meet in Edinburg, Texas, placing 3rd as a team. All five of the West powerlifters who competed at the regional meet qualified to compete at the state meet on March 23.

A BRIDGE TO SUCCESS: CELEBRATING VISD'S FIRST GRADUATE FROM THE INNOVATIVE BRIDGE PROGRAM

In a significant milestone for Victoria Independent School District (VISD), we proudly celebrate the first graduate of the visionary VISD BRIDGE Program.

Leslie Ortiz, a devoted science teacher at STEM Middle School, exemplifies the program's success as she prepares to graduate from Grand Canyon University on March 15, 2024.

The VISD BRIDGE Program is a trailblazing initiative addressing the critical shortage of qualified teachers in our district. By offering a unique pathway for paraprofessionals and substitutes within VISD to become certified teachers, this program hinges on the strength of recommendations from campus administrators. Leslie Ortiz, with her unwavering dedication and passion for education, is a shining example of the program's potential.

VICTORIA ISD SECONDARY SCHOOLS REINFORCE GUIDELINES ON ELECTRONIC DEVICES AHEAD OF SPRING BREAK

As Victoria ISD and our campuses prepare for the upcoming Spring Break, Victoria ISD wants to reaffirm our commitment to maintaining a productive learning environment at all of our campuses.

In alignment with this commitment, and to provide ample notice to parents/guardians prior to the return of students from spring break, we will be strictly enforcing the VISD Student Handbook regarding the Possession of Telecommunications or Other Electronic Devices, as outlined in district policy FNCE(Local).
